Falling Away
In the face of hardship and suffering, the book of Hebrews encourages believers to endure with confidence and faith, for Jesus is better than anything the Old Testament had to offer. His greatness calls us to steadfastly follow Him, regardless of the cost, knowing that what lies ahead in Him is far superior to what is left behind in sin and the world. Don't turn back or compromise; instead, hold fast to the faith, understanding that Jesus, the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person, upholds all things and has forgiven our sins. As the heir of all things and the mediator of a new and better covenant, Jesus exemplifies and commands our endurance. Therefore, let us not throw away our confidence but press on with patience, as we have been called to follow in His steps, assured of the great reward that awaits us.
