Growth Groups are short-term Commitment groups to help navigate the demands of modern life. These groups, with a commitment window of 8 weeks, are designed to fit the fast-paced rhythms of life and offer a unique opportunity to delve into specific sermon topics, build authentic relationships, and experience spiritual and personal growth in a small group setting for our members. These Growth Groups will help ensure more members participate in group life.
- To ignite a passion for community life in our church members.
- To have more church members experience life in a small group.
- To increase the number of church members fulfilling the great commission by discipling others.
- To unify the church body at MLFC.
- All group facilitators will be oriented.
- All group members will be preview to the group guidelines.
- All the groups will be assigned a Zone leader. The Zone Leader will have the responsibility to provide support to the short-term groups. The support will be inform of encouragement, addressing any issues arising, and ensuring compliance.
- Church members who do not attend regular CG meetings will be encouraged to gather in groups of 5-6 and create a group that will run for 8 weeks.
- The group will need to register the following details:
- List of names of the members of the group.
- Name of Group
- Where they will be meeting from.
- Day and time of meeting.
- The group members will be provided with a guide outlining the following:
- Purpose of the group
- Simple structure and duration for each meeting
- The simple roles and responsibilities in the group like timekeeping, participation, personal reflection, taking attendance, and reporting.
- Rotational facilitation will be encouraged for groups that chose to be meeting in group members homes.
- Due to the short lifespan of these groups, registration will be limited to a certain timeframe.
- After 8 weeks, they have the option to continue the group or stop meeting.
- The groups that choose to continue will be added to our mainstream General Groups.
- For the groups that choose to stop, and have members who would like to continue with group life, will be plugged into another group.
- The groups that are completely closed will be archived in the system in case they want to reconvene for a future sermon series.
